Youth and Children's Programs

The Salvation Army offers several exciting character building programs for adolescences through local corps community centers.

The Sunbeam Program is designed for girls from first through fifth grades. As a Sunbeam you will make new friends and learn how to be a friend to others. You will have fun outdoors, explore your town and learn how to be a better citizen. Additionally, you will discover how to love and worship God. Any girl may become a Sunbeam, regardless of race, color or religion.
The Girl Guard Program focuses on helping girls understand their potential as individuals. They experience a variety of activities, including music, games, camping, crafts and field trips. The emphasis is on Christian values and a relationship with Jesus Christ. This group is open to any girl in grades six through twelve.
The Salvation Army Adventure Corps is a Christian education program for boys. Its purpose is to assist boys in developing their individuality and potential through group activities with other boys, through education about Christian values and the development of social skills. There are two levels in Adventure Corps: Explorers (grades one through four) and Rangers (grades five through eight).
